When2meet vs Doodle: which group poll to use
When2meet is a free availability grid. Doodle is a branded poll with paid upgrades. Neither is a booking page. Here is how they differ, and when TimeTuna fits instead.
Short answer
Use When2meet when a group needs a free, anonymous availability grid and nobody should create an account. Use Doodle when the organizer wants a named poll, email reminders, and is willing to live with Doodle branding or pay to remove it. Use a booking page such as TimeTuna when one host already knows their hours and a guest should pick one open slot, not paint a grid.
When2meet and Doodle both answer "when can we all meet?" TimeTuna answers "book a time on my calendar." Those are different jobs.
What When2meet is
When2meet is a free group availability poll from when2meet.com. The organizer sets a date range and time window, shares one link, and each person paints the cells they can attend. Darker cells mean more people can make that time. Respondents do not need a When2meet account.
When2meet does not connect to Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple Calendar. It does not create the meeting, send a confirmation, or block the time. Someone still has to read the grid and send the invite.
What Doodle is
Doodle, at doodle.com, is a meeting poll. The organizer proposes times, people vote yes or no, and Doodle highlights the option with the most yes votes. Participants can leave a name. Doodle also sells a booking-page product, which is separate from the poll.
Free Doodle polls show Doodle branding. Paid Doodle plans are how organizers remove that branding and add extras such as calendar connect. Check doodle.com for the current plan names and prices. Do not assume a free poll will look unbranded.
When2meet vs Doodle, side by side
Account for voters: When2meet does not require one. Doodle asks for a name and can ask people to sign in depending on the poll settings.
Input style: When2meet is a painted grid of every slot in a range. Doodle is a vote on the specific options the organizer listed.
Calendar sync: When2meet has none. Doodle offers calendar connect on paid plans, not on every free poll.
Branding: When2meet is plain and free. Doodle free polls carry Doodle branding.
Best fit: When2meet for a class, club, or volunteer group that will not pay. Doodle for an office poll where names and a cleaner results page matter more than a blank grid.
When neither poll is the right tool
A poll is the wrong tool for client booking. If you are a coach, consultant, or founder and the other person should pick from your open hours, send a booking link. A poll makes every guest do coordination work, and it does not write the event onto your calendar.
TimeTuna is that booking page. You set availability, the guest picks one open slot, and the meeting lands on the connected calendar. It is not a When2meet grid and it is not a Doodle poll. If the meeting has many peers who all must overlap, stay on When2meet or Doodle. If one host owns the calendar, use TimeTuna.
