TimeTuna

Language

Your booking page can speak your guests' language. Pick one and the page, the emails and the text messages your guests receive all follow it, along with the date and time format.

Setting the language

Open a booking page editor, go to the Appearance tab and choose a Language. Each booking page has its own setting, so you can keep an English page for one audience and a German one for another.

New pages start on English, and so does every page that existed before this setting arrived. Nothing changes until you choose otherwise.

Match the visitor's browser

Instead of a fixed language you can pick Match the visitor's browser. Each guest then sees the page in the language their browser asks for when it is one we support, and English otherwise. Choose this when your guests come from several countries and you cannot predict which language any one of them reads.

Pick a fixed language when you know your audience
A fixed language is the safer choice when you know who books with you. It is also what your guests see in any screenshot or preview you share, since those have no browser language to read.

What gets translated

  • Every label, button and message on your public booking page.
  • The confirmation, reminder, cancellation and reschedule emails your guests receive.
  • The text messages your guests receive, if you have SMS enabled.
  • Dates, day names and the clock. A German page shows 14:00 where an English page shows 2:00 PM.

Previewing a language

Add ?lang= to your booking page URL to see it in any language, without changing the page setting and without changing your browser. For example timetuna.com/your-page?lang=de renders the page in German for that visit only.

Use the two-letter code from the list below (de, ja, pt). Regional forms like de-AT work too. An unknown code is ignored and the page falls back to its normal setting. Opening two tabs with different codes is the quickest way to compare.

It previews the emails too
A booking made from a ?lang= URL records that language, so the confirmation, the reminder and any cancellation arrive in it. Booking yourself from ?lang=fr is a full end-to-end check of the French experience.

Our wording follows the language. Yours does not.

Your confirmation message and your guest emails start out with wording we wrote. While you have not changed it, it is still ours, so it follows the page language: switch to Italian and those emails go out in Italian, with nothing for you to do.

The moment you edit one of them it becomes yours, and we send it back exactly as you typed it, in whatever language you wrote. We never translate your words. If you write your confirmation message in Italian, set the page to Italian too so the rest of it matches.

Fields that are always yours, and are never touched: your title, display name, subheading, bio, job title, meeting type names, and your button labels. Write those in the language your guests read. See Email customization for editing the guest emails.

Your own dashboard stays in English
The language setting describes your guests, not you. Your dashboard, the booking page editor and the emails TimeTuna sends to you as the host stay in English.

Guests who already booked

The language is recorded with each booking. If you change your page language later, a guest who already booked still gets their reminder and any cancellation notice in the language they booked in, and the reschedule screen they open from their confirmation email matches their original email.

Supported languages

Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian (Bokmål), Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish and Ukrainian.

Missing a language?
Tell us which one and who books with you in it. Adding a language is a small change on our side and we prioritise the ones hosts actually ask for.
